Anorak's Athenaeum
What in the heck is that?!? An Anorak, traditionally a kind of waterproof raincoat, worn in the 70's by extreme pirate radio fans who would board ships to visit the offshore radio shows, became as a result a slang in England for a geek while an athenaeum is a kind of library, specializing in literary and scientific study. In essence, this is a term for a gathering place of geeks & nerds - those dedicated to what we stand for, and seek to do what is needed to make sure this kind of content remains in production.
The meaning for The Dedicated is more of a personal one. Christopher is a big fan of wordplay and meaning. Trying to find a term for people who actually took the time to vote with their hard-earned money that was deeply personal, he started to play with his name. His last name, Eden, meant the place of delight in hebrew. But it couldn't be so obvious, so he loosed a few steps removed. So if The Garden was the dithering place of the man free from sin, what was it's opposite? The first city of man, was also named after Cain's son, Enoch. Enoch is a word meaning dedicated/trained/disciplined. Thus: Those who help Anorak's Athenaeum to exist, are The Dedicated.
